I thought my car was going to have to be towed away yesterday as I had battery failure despite having just driven somewhere and on 76% charge.

Car totally shut down with about 10 errors - called audi assist but luckily it reset its self before they arrived so I cancelled.

There does seem to be more and more issues coming up now and interest to the the US post that Audi US have stopped all deliveries.

After the MMI database update on 17/12 the lnterior lightbar has stopped working - reboot won’t bring it back either.
I'm sure you're aware that the light bar only operates when the light gets low. It's not illuminated during the day.

I sure do! I set off when it was dark and come home when it was dark with no light bar. Also preconditioning is intermittent, and having issues with the car thinking it’s reached its charge target before it has.

I will book it in after the new year! Any news on yours

Another day, another bug then!
I've had the dealers demonstrator for the last 3 weeks. I've lost track of the issues with it now. Many with the MMI.
Some of my favorites have been the sunroof blind closing for no apparantly reason, and the car switching back on with radio playing after I'd got out and connected the charging cable. Obviously it has just about every other issue ever listed on here too. To be fair, it is the perfect demonstration of what to expect should You choose to buy one!

It’s not a great look or experience! I would like to say that the update resolves many of the issues, but it’s created smaller ones. If you have issues charging, locking the car or it being about as much use as a brick you do have to wonder at what point does it go back and stay there. I have a little bit of thinking to do about the future of my SQ6

You and I both! I had a look around a Polestar 3 yesterday. They've offered me an extended test drive in January.

Let me know how that goes, it’s sad really as I like the car but it has to work. They have had 3 months now on a car that’s already 2 years late, the Q4 & Q8 still has outstanding issues. Yes they have done updates but its steps forwards and three steps back ( as the song goes).

Hi,

I had a couple of small issues this weekend and today:

  1. Charging Oddity
I left the car to charge on Friday evening with ~20% charge. Everything seemed fine—I remember checking it at around 55% with ~200 km range. However, the next morning, it showed 80% SOC but only 111 km range! I was initially worried that there might be a leak from the charging port and that my battery had been damaged during the rain. Thankfully, I had set a timer for departure, and it miraculously charged to 81% and corrected the range.
  2. Connectivity Glitch
This morning, everything was fine before going to work. But after work, my map looked odd—no satellite view. When I checked the menu, there were no Wi-Fi or mobile connection options, even though the LTE icon showed as connected. I went to the store, but it didn’t fix itself. A soft reboot (holding the volume knob) resolved it.
  3. Missing Fast Chargers
I noticed that some very fast chargers from GreenWay were missing from the e-tron map while en route. I could see them on ABRP and PlugShare, but not on the car’s system.
I went on a ~200 km drive after that—everything worked great. Well, consumption could/should be lower, but with 3°C and driving in the mountains, it’s as expected (though not as advertised).

On a positive note:
I discovered that tilting the volume knob to the left (tilting, not scrolling) lets me skip back ~30 seconds in Audible. I’ve been missing this feature on the home screen, and it’s so much better than using on-screen controls.

By the way, does anyone know how to pause playback using the knob or steering wheel buttons instead of the screen?

One more thing I discovered: as you all know, when we start driving, the car slightly tightens the seatbelts.

Today, there was heavy traffic on the highway, and at one point, we were all driving quite close, though not fast—about 50 km/h. Suddenly, the guy in front of me braked hard. I, of course, did the same—nothing too dramatic. However, my car displayed a red warning (which I’ve seen before), but this time it tightened the seatbelts much more forcefully.

This was a first for me. It was much stronger and faster than the usual tightening when starting to drive. Good to know we have these small but effective safety features.

UK Q6 S-line Quattro with the included sound and vision pack delivered on 16/12

No major issues and pretty certain they’re all software bugs:

1. Had the KPH/MPH bug for the 1st few days followed by the traffic sign recognition failure error, it eventually reset while driving and has been fine since.

2. Had 2 occurrences where the sound system has stopped working, the screens and infotainment all act as normal and you can see the track time progressing but no sound is coming out of the speakers on CarPlay. Initially thought it could be a CarPlay issue but switched to radio and no sound played from this either. The car did still chime and bong, etc when parking so the speakers were working. Parked the car and next time I got in it, all worked as normal.

3. 1 occurrence where the HUD disappeared, looked in the vehicle settings and it had randomly turned itself off, it would not let me turn it back on while driving but when I got home and parked I flicked it back on and it reappeared as normal

4. The Audi App is just sh*t, remote functions like climate rarely work, it’s 50/50 at best if it’ll update the vehicle status and it’s just lacking features.

5. Dynamic volume in the sound settings kept turning the audio down as I pulled away, so have just disabled it for now

6. Not really an issue but I find the B&O sound system to lack bass, it’s just about OK with bass and sub woofer set to max. The sound clarity is very good but I expected it to have a bit more oomph.

Have you checked if you're on the latest sw vr?

The traffic sign recognition and a few of the issues you mentioned have been addressed over a series of MMI updates. Unfortunately when they are delivered they do cause other issues until you reboot the MMI.

Whilst in the navigation screen click the silver settings icon and down to disclaimer and you’ll see that it will have been updated around the 17th.

To reboot the MMi, press and hold down the volume on/off dial for 10 seconds you’ll see it restarting on the right side of the cockpit display. This reboot will work for several issues as there's a lot of issues lol

The app has been misreporting that cars are on the 3.01 software but not all are. Check the MMI to be certain.

The app is by far the worst thing, it's frustrating and has non stop issues with connectivity. Regardless of its the app, servers or the car.. it just doesn't work.

Some cars have been delivered with faulty control units, make sure you date and log all your issues

if things suddenly stop working that were previously working, chances are that you had a database update. For some reason it always seems to require a reboot of the MMI to get everything up and running. But also expect for one thing to be fixed and it break another lol

And you noticed the sound on the B&O system, it's the Audi rip off edition! where you need to pay for a sound update to make it sound like it should.

You have also correctly noticed the range changes with the temperature. I do have to question how the reviews got such wonderful speeds and range 0-6° and you'll get 2.2-25, above 7° you'll get 2.7- 3.2 most people are saying its a 30-40% difference to their advertised stats.

A manual precondition/Boost button when it's cold may help long journeys but of course unless you are charging would also use some of the stored power. But I do feel that a manual preconditions would improve the range and enjoyment of the car.

With all these software issues, it makes me wonder when there will be any apparent improvement in their software as a result of the assistance from rivian. Maybe that's only for cars well in the future...?

I would be surprised if the Q6 sees any improvements from rivian. Change has to start at the top, with the management and the way they work the way to the car.

New owner here
Q6 Launch Edition in Ireland - Quattro, panoramic sun roof, passenger MMI (tech pro pack).
Picked up the car on November 11th.
The usual issues - the software update notification came up on the app, rang the dealership, booked an appointment, then got a call the day before it that they haven’t received proper instructions from Audi so the update is suspended at the moment.

All was going well. Just shy of 2000km since I got it.

This came on yesterday. Car went into limp mode. Within 1 km the warning became red. Car started behaving as if you’ve gone to the highest gear on an ICE vehicle while driving at 10km/he.
Charge and Power indicators on the bottom right corner started fluctuating. Pulled over to the side. Turned the car back on, yellow warning again, turned red within 100m without the car sputtering this time.
Rang the dealership, they advised to ring Audi Assistance. Car was towed away.
I want to cry 🥲
Update:
Car is in the dealership. Updated today - they were advised (not sure by whom) not to update the software as that will erase any existing error codes and apparently there were some. The issues will have to be looked at by a "high-voltage" technician who is away until end of next week...
