Update:
Car is in the dealership. Updated today - they were advised (not sure by whom) not to update the software as that will erase any existing error codes and apparently there were some. The issues will have to be looked at by a "high-voltage" technician who is away until end of next week... :unsure:
The update should only be done by a high-voltage engineer! Dealerships must dread the update, incase the car requires a replacement control unit or help from Germany.
 
Got my Q6 on Tuesday. Just had the car alert me to a HV malfunction before i’ve even driven it 20 miles.

Was parked at a grocery store with my daughter - car wouldn’t shift into drive. Daughter had to go to the bathroom so while I figured out Roadside Service I took her to use the restroom.

When we got back the car pretended nothing was wrong and shifted into drive.
 
Now that we have started to see delivery of the Q6 & SQ6, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to share issues, fixes and known issues.

When you post an issue, include the model/ trim for example : Q6 E1, Q6 SLine

We have been a away for a while so time for quick update.

I have luckily managed to avoid most of the issues reported on here. Had three outstanding
  1. Timed charging over night
    1. Tested this again using the cars scheduling via 'Charging Location' setting
    2. Previously it used to not charge and throw a 'high voltage' fault
    3. This morning no fault message....but....it was not charging. It thinks it was and it was in the process - but when I got into car the actual draw from charger was mostly 0 and briefly went up to 3 KWh before dropping back down to 0
    4. Disabled scheduled charging and normal charging worked straight away
  2. Car alarm randomly going off
    1. People had theory this was related to digital key which I had enabled
    2. Disabled - and yes alarm has stopped going off. For at least 10 days
    3. Side note - we went away on hols and car sat idle for a week and no issues with 12 volt battery
  3. Unable to lock door with handle button
    1. No change

Everything else seems ok. No issues with error messages - or traffic signs or anything else.

So reading this forum I feel somewhat fortunate.

Glad to her the alarm stopped going off! The traffic sign recognition issue was resolved by a MMI database update, but that has caused a new issue which you will eventually notice. On a motorway that should be 70mph you'll get the MMI saying 60mph. Some have had 90mph reported on a 70mph. The last MMI update was the 17th, I don't expect any new OTA updates until January.

Hey @Hppy29 - now you mention it - I think I did see a 60 where it should have been a 70. On the A3 near me. I was wondering at the time - as the road does change speed limits and maybe it was just that - but I was thinking at the time it should have been a 70. Will keep an eye out on that.

Here is my update,

1.Plug & Charge has returned with no mention and only appears on the MMI ( switched off by default) but does work at Ionity when reactivated. Which leads me on to my next issue...

Charging! Everytime the car is plugged in, I get errors or refusal to charge.

On a DC charger I have tried two Gridserve and an Applegreen and resulted with the car trying to connect but at the handshake it seems to time out. After a few attempts I can normally get it going. At home on charge everytime there is an issue but again eventually it works but the car sits there glowing red on the dash.

2.Preconditioning is hit and miss! With more miss and that means even when I can get it to charge at a DC charger it's slow. I always check with other cars and see what they are getting to ensure it's not the power to the charger that at fault.

3.Ohme have acknowledge an issue due to the VW App & API

4.Boot, often won't lock or close. It does close then pops open again by 40CM

5.Driver can see passenger display screen, Sometimes the screen looses its theme and no screensaver

6.Speeds shown on MMI are incorrect, 60 when its 70mph

7.Front camera keeps coming on for no issue

8.Connectivity between car and app, or lack of

Hppy - with regards to the boot does it occasionally shake a little bit just as it opens as I have noticed this occasionally and sometimes the lock has been totally closed as if locked so it won’t close.

I haven’t noticed it shake, but yeah it’s like it’s locked. Double press, single press or talking nice to it won’t close it. Leave it a while and then it will close.

No, you don't. You need to check which seats you have.

This might not be true in all countries, depending on the options that are picked by each country's Audi marketing team. I think it's only the very basic fabric seats that are manual, and as soon as you go for anything higher, they are electrically operated.

For an authoritative answer on the model you are considering, though, talk to your Audi dealer!

Yep, different options for different countries. At least in the US, there are no fabric seats and they should all have power adjustment.

There are a number of options still with the seats, apart from the seat covering (I really like the blue and grey one, incidentally, but that's super expensive and wasn't available when I ordered mine). I think all of the other possibilities are:
  • Lumbar support
  • Heating (generally pretty standard, I think)
  • Ventilation (only available with some types of seat covering, I have it with the beige leather)
  • Sports seats and trim
  • Massage (this is in the Sport Plus seats)
  • Headrests that can be moved forwards and backwards (probably not available with all types)
  • Speakers in the headrests (only available in combination with the B&O speakers)

I think that's all, unless anyone can think of something I've missed!

When did it start
Just picked up my SQ6. On my SQ5 I am able to see my favorites on the front dash as there was an option. Has anyone figured out how to add it on the SQ6?
 
I’ve had that one flash up and eventually self clear. For a bit if time the traffic recognition were also in Km/hr!!! Then it reset and was fine.. still trying to figure out if I did something.

More worrying is on Sunday afternoon, going down the A1, I got an alarm to say front right wheel bolts were loose. I checked and they were not quite as tight as the other 3 wheels but not loose… of course it was raining😡. Also wondering which sensor is capable of identifying marginally loose bolts!!! Might be worth you checking….

No other issue to report.

Ohme charger now working ok, when I checked the wiring in the fuse board the current coil had been fitted to the wrong cable, so was constantly showing 0A !!!! Now happily charging at 7.3kw.

in other news I did charge on the super fast dc chargers at Woodall services …. Omg they are quick. Started charging at 270kw/hr then stabilised at about 180. In the time it took to buy a sandwich I had topped up 20kw and was back on the road. Bit pricey, but definitely helps with easing any range concerns….
Had the same remark about the loose bolts 3 times allready.
any solution ??

Well for those of us that may have been considering a Porsche as an alternative to the Q6, it seems that they are not without their issues. With seemingly the same level of VW customer service.

I have just watched a YT video that talks about customers getting letters about their Tycan EV. Whilst this is not on the PPE platform it does show how they handle issues. A brake hose recall (sound familiar) and now being told they could have issues with the batteries which needs constant monitoring until new software is released in 1st Qtr of 2025. Some customers were told not to park their car near their home, and now customers being told not to charge with the car undercover. Drivers now having issues getting insurance due to the issues.

You do have to ask what is going on with VW, and their quality control. For anyone is interested to see the letter being sent out to some Porsche Tycan EV owners, have a look at TheMacMaster on YT.
 
Hello fellow frustrated Sq6 owners. I traded my sq5 in on a Sq6 on Dec 14. I was cautiously optimistic with my purchase after reading all of the horror stories on here about various problems people are experiencing. My first week with the car was great!! Doors unlocked fine, no alarms going off, etc. Then a day or so ago I had the car plugged in charging overnight and to my surprise the next morning, the car wasn’t charging… I plugged the car up again and everything seemed fine until I got in the car. This thing lit up like a Christmas tree with numerous faults and malfunction lights!! Anyone experienced this or have any recommendations? I tried to reset MMI already. Called local dealership and to my dismay; they cls it’s likely they will now need the car for weeks to try and isolate the issue and find a resolution.., I mean what a joke for an $80k plus list vehicle!! 🤬
 
Update with my car - now the alarm is going off over night and annoying the **** out of neighbors. We live in the city in a large apartment building so I didn't hear it but someone did and called to have the car towed. I moved it before it was towed though.

Got in the car and now its warning me that the Front Hood is open. Drove to an appointment, parked and walked half a block before the alarm went off again.

So to summarize, in less than 1 week of ownership:

  • HV Fault strands us in a parking lot, goes away on it's own after 15 minute bathroom break.
  • Front Hood sensor says its open when it's not.
  • Alarm going off for no reason, pissing my neighbors off.

Oh and I haven't been able to set up plug and charge yet.
 
New small issue:

When I plug in the DC cable, it somehow moves under the hood and opens my trunk. Out of four DC charging sessions so far, the trunk has opened three time s.
I've had a similar occurrence once or twice over the past year with my Q4. Plug into a level 2 charger in my condo building and the trunk opens...no big deal unless it starts to happen every time. Crazy stuff.
 
When everyone posts issues, it would be helpful to include what software version you’re on - otherwise, we have no idea if the issue(s) are already fixed, remain unfixed or are regressions in a new version.
