Thanks Jean ! Apreciate the response, the group is great for trying to determine similar issues etc ! Glad you got it back at least, and yep I’m hoping they fix it quickly and sound alike a faulty cell too. This will be covered on the battery wattebty too, so I guess it’s just wait and see from here on in. Have had no issues so far with it, and own it just over a year now too, thanks I’ll keep u posted for future 🙌🏻

@mmmzon I see several threads on this forum about Electrical system malfunction and motor/gearbox noise. Can we combine these into one thread and does this forum have poll option to see how often they happen, what was the issue/what got replaced, how long it took, year and mileage of the car ?

There’s a class action lawsuit against Audi re: this very issue, but it does not seem to include e-trons (at least not yet). A family member just had this happen to his 2022 e-tron (35k miles), and a friend has also had it happen more than once with his. Both vehicles are now with the dealership, with no solution proposed as yet. I am now worried about this happening with my e-tron.

etron is not part of this - it does not have starter or alternator:
"Audi is currently facing a new class action lawsuit due to alleged defects in the electrical systems of certain vehicles in their model years ranging from 2018 – 2023. The lawsuit alleges that owners and lessees of certain Audi vehicles have experienced issues with their alternators and starter generators, resulting in various warning messages appearing on their dashboards. "

Right, that was my thought as well. But I wonder if there is beginning to be a problem showing up on e-trons, maybe those with 30k+ miles.

Got the dreaded electrical system malfunction error when heading up towards San Francisco from Los Angeles. Dealer is ordering a replacement rear motor, a module for the motor, and an Sx6 module. No idea on ETA yet. Car has 9,900 miles on it 2022 GT. 😢

Sorry to hear! Good luck on the repair. Parts deliveries are taking a really long time.

I just got this dreaded error on my 2019 e-tron. Just over 24k miles. Bought it from Carvana 3 months ago with 22k miles.

I had it plugged into my level 2 garage charger for about an hour but had to move it so unplugged it like I always do but got this when I tried to start it.

I have an obeleven device and ran a full scan on it to try and see the issue. It has 28 faults but had 20 when I bought it (I assume they were never cleared and Audi said it passed a full pre inspection when I bought it).

I guess I'll be calling the dealer on Monday...

That seems very close to what I as myself happen as well. It would not start in the morning and that was it. I had it towed to the dealership since it's covered anyway.

There are very few moving parts so the lubricant is not required in such copious amounts as in ICE designs.

"While braking, the electric motors perform decelerations alone up to around 0.3 g, i.e. the vast majority of all brake applications in everyday driving. The hydraulic wheel brakes are activated only when the driver brakes very heavily. The transition is almost unnoticeable, and recuperation remains active almost up to a standstill. "

Oh, but I do notice it every time it happens ;) It is a different feeling of braking, much less refined. Especially when braking on snowy patches. Regen braking is smooth and much more controller, mechanical brakes feel very raspy in comparison.

You left out the best part: "Brake recuperation: output of up to 265 kW".
