i will reboot the MMI first and see what that achieves. I'll come back and ask you about how to add the car again Via the App, presumably I need to delete it and then go through the original process again?

I haven't spoken to the dealer yet, my nominated dealer is not the one that supplied it.

Anybody else reporting strange noise from front running gear?

I didn’t remove my car when I re-added it! It just refreshed the signal and everything connected. We have seen others who did not have full key user status get their car added fully by the dealership.

Hi Hppy, I have reconsider doing it earlier now or doing it after new year. Have you done yours yet? Sorry, I was so busy due to year end and didn't have time to follow the forum. I guess I missing a lot.

Golf course closed due to strong wind.

I did drive to the dealership last week. I'm 100% sure that they do really have lack of information about the new Q6 issue and what need to be done. Can't blame them but mainly down new product and Christmas coming.

Thanks
LIM
When I booked mine in on Saturday morning they guy who is the "digital specialist" said he'd only got the information about it on Friday!

Dealer called this morning regarding the recall - opening words were " you will be our guinea pig on this" - because of the other issues I have listed they want it for more than 1 day which because I need a loan car can't happen until 20th Jan 2025!

Also noticed the steering wheel is not quite straight when vehicle going straight !

It sounds like your car was a Monday car! And a bad choice of words by the service team, but we are early adopters and the first update.

The update does seem to take longer than expected, depending on what time of day they do it and then a wash after it is a good full day.

Audi have also told workshops that they intend to do a software update on a range of control units by the end of the year. If you have issues with the control units you may still experience issues even after the update until that’s done.

Hello!

I just got back from a 2 week holiday… I’ve had a really nice surprise waiting for me!
My Q6 won’t start, I’ve managed to unlock it but that’s about it, can’t turn it on, lock it or open anything (charging port, boot, mirrors).
I just get a few errors on the dash, MMI doesn’t turn on. Alarm keeps going off and I’m waiting for AA to come out.
It feels like 12v battery is dead but I’m not sure and then again it’s only been 2 weeks!

That’s a worry! Have you called out Audi? And that’s just made me ordered a jump kit off Amazon

I called Audi assist, that goes over to AA and they’re sending out a VW technician, should be here in the next 3 hours. I’m absolutely fuming because I just got off of 15h flight back from Thailand and this is the last thing I want to be dealing with right now 😒

While I remember, I’d advise everyone to take note of Audi Assist (breakdown) number 0330 100 3374 as the emergency buttons in the car didn’t work for me.

whilst not great I do hope it is only
The 12v. If you need to have the car taken make sure they bring a low loader.
You may have missed that they have released some new software, I would get that car booked in.

Just booked it in for Wednesday 27th for diagnostics and software update. I’m still waiting for road assistance to show up, we’ll see wether the car needs to be recovered and go into the dealership sooner.

Hello Mark, I am not sure if you have had any help from the dealership..

Profile Settings - Have you checked that you are logged in as a key user? Normally this happens when you are logged in as a guest or local user? or the process of setting you up as a key user hasn't worked fully. (On the MMI - User Management)

Private mode, tend to be because the car has not allowed the App to have full access to the MMI. On the MMI in the privacy settings check that you have allowed remote access this should allow you to stay connected to the car, however unless you are set as the key user functions will be limited.

Random Faults, most of what you have mentioned should be addressed in the software update which has been released. If you haven't made an appointment with your dealership try booking it in.

Range, is something that is getting mixed results. I have a SQ6 which should be technically have lower range but have been getting anything from 2.5-3.1 which for the weight of the car is what I would expect. What we don't know yet is how much the software has impacted the efficiency or if the impending update to some of the control units will help.

Software updates to the MMI are done OTA, but as this is a new platform for Audi and due to issues that some customers have had they want to do the first few system update in the workshop before activating OTA.

Charging is something you may need to look at, I am not sure why you are only getting that speed on a home charger and the load bearing on your charger. Speed of charing is something that nobody has really had an issue with, other than issues with Ohme charger and the API. I would also disable the Battery care mode to see if this helps.

It's a great car, I would say however IX isn't without its software issues which are well documented online. Polestar and Volvo also have issues, I think most people on here would agree that the experience hasn't been great. Not because things have gone wrong but the fact that they haven't communicated enough to explain what's been done to resolve the issues.

As for it being tacky inside, well thats personal taste. I personally find the crystal style jog dial in the BMW something that looks like it belongs in a Claires accessories but others like it.

Unfortunately no car is perfect on performance or style and the high end EV range tends to lack a solid build and performance or resembles a traditional car. Not everyone wants recycled plastics or fake leather. I personally dislike the glossy black in the Q6 but I can forgive that for all the other things I do like.

The software update that is currently being rolled out is said to address:

The new software version contains a series of measures intended to improve quality, as well as several functional enhancements. The software update improves several functions and reduces the occurrence of unjustified warning messages. For example, the vehicle’s charging functions and their availability have been optimised. This applies to features such as the use of speech recognition via the Audi assistant, the navigation system and for mobile phone connections. Occupant detection, sound output and the content displayed on the screens have also been optimised

Updates for Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Assist Issues, and suspension issue are also said to have been addressed. Along with the activation of digital key.

I would definitely and check if you are set as a key user, this would resolve some of your issues.
Very kind of you @Hppy29 (and others) to take on the role trouble-shooting Q6 issues. Much appreciated. Learning a lot from everyone's posts

New bug for me, but it is a move in the right direction...

Within a few hours of getting the car, I had traffic sign recognition issues, I was unable to use cruise control and the car constantly showed the signs in Km and speed in MPH

Overnight on Saturday, something was changed. I no longer have the KM/MPH issue and the signs are all correctly in MPH.

However, now I have roads that are 70 flashing up on the cockpit at 60! I have just driven up to Liverpool and was able to use cruise control, seemingly small things please me... plus I was able to Plug&Charge at Ionity

How's it going? Did VW tech turn up?
Yeah, he got it going.
12v battery was low ish but not dead! He ended up just disconnecting it to reboot the whole system. I’d never get in there myself to do it under the frunk but it’s working. It’s going in to the dealership on Wednesday for diagnostics and software update.
