There is nothing like a digital key in the my Audi app how to get Apple working as digital key
when your car has the 3.01 software. In the my Audi app click all functions. Then select digital key.

If it is greyed out click and this will prompt the email for activation. Once you have the code you can then go back into the same area and complete setup.

This is only available if your car has 3.01 software.

thanks I do need to go indeed, this has nothing to do with 06xn update and can be done without issues or do I need to wait
It’s all related, it will only cause issues if you have experienced a control unit problem and you would know with the amount of issues.

Call and speak to your local workshop who can inform you about the rollout of software 3.01 in your country/market.

Guys,

I was also excited about the digital key, but when I finally got it, it turned out to be such a disappointment.

1. Unlocking the car:

- The car doesn’t unlock itself when you approach. You either have to unlock it via the phone or place the phone next to the handle.

- UWB is present, enabled, and my key says everything is OK, but it’s still not working.

- To make matters worse, touching the handle like with a traditional FOB doesn’t work either. The same issue applies when leaving the car—touching the handle doesn’t lock it. You have to take out your phone and launch the app.

2. Starting the car:

To start the car, I need to take my phone out of my pocket and place it in the Audi phone box. After several seconds, it beeps, and then I can select “Drive.” With fob just enter and select drive.

I’ve tried using it, but honestly, it’s much easier to just keep the FOB in my pocket.

It’s winter now, so I always have a jacket and extra pockets, which makes carrying the FOB more convenient. Maybe in summer, with fewer layers and fewer pockets, the digital key might seem more useful—but for now, it’s a letdown.

The digital key uses the CCC standard, but has been problematic for many on the Q6 range causing anything linked to that model to have issues.

The most common has been the alarm going off for no reason or people being locked out of the car.

The phone being placed into the phone box is an extra security feature to stop unwanted starts for example by kids in a car playing with a phone.

Really? Do you know that for sure, or are you just making it up? If there’s a FOB in the car, you can switch to drive. As with any other car I had for 15+ last years. The same security to unlock car? LOL

Digital Key has a standard used by most cars ( google CCC Digital Key), the phone box placement is in the Audi Owners manual. l In regards to the FOB, thats definitely an Audi standard, I assume that they expect that the key owner is responsible for it. I agree with Face ID/ Touch ID the digital key is more secure. But then again my FOB can't even control the boot correctly.

In my US Q6, Digital Key works as expected. I can unlock and drive my car while my phone is in my pocket the whole time. I’ve tested this many times.

maybe after set up you can leave in pocket but not what the dealerships are telling people. Anything is possible lol
Audi dealerships are incredibly under-trained on the Q6 and software-driven EVs in general, so I don’t really trust what most of them say. At least half the things they told me about how the car works were false.
