Thanks for those. Sounds like fun. But those wheels, while perhaps not available in the U.K., are in fact available in the US on the non-RS version.
No problem and thanks, that's great information. The UK configurator at the minute only has the 20 inch options on the GT and 21's on the RS (have to say I do love the wheels on the demonstrator so if you're in the US, you're in luck in my opinion). Looking at the US configurator, they're very subtly different with bi-colour gray (also available on the UK RS version) whereas the examples on the 'Vorsprung' demo here are are black. Overall a very classy, halo car. Have to save the pennies here as a furloughed airline pilot but hopefully soon I'll be able to make the switch to EV.

Ha! You snagged my original incorrect content. [I had thought for sure those 21 wheels were available for the non-RS GT. I was wrong, and just didn’t correct myself quickly enough.:D]

From across the pound, Happy 4th of July, sometimes called Treason Day in the UK. 🤣

No worries at all :) , you're not wrong as I think they're available on the Prestige which I think you then have to spec the Performance package (not sure if this turns it into the RS or not as it seems to differ by region). The only difference I can see is that the black inserts aren't available over the water in the US. Good old Audi eh?

Would be nice to see one in Navarra Blue (my current B9 S4's colour which I love).

Happy 4th July, have a great day and all the very best from the UK (y)

At local dealers today, for those in the UK dissapointed with the wheel choice on the base GT, these look great in the metal. I have ordered this exact colour / wheel and was worried about it being under wheeled but it's not. However I have gone for the body colored grille though.

I initially went for this exact spec, but changed my mind about the colour and went for Kemora grey instead. The Daytona looks stunning though!

Made an appointment in two weeks to get the rims on my Daytona Grey GT powder coated gloss black. Debating on getting the calipers painted black or possibly red and open to suggestions (shop recommended silver for calipers). Saw another model Audi on another forum in Daytona Grey do this and looked pretty good. Also getting Ceramic Coating next week (free for AAA members, not sure if just through my dealer or all new Audis) and windows tinted. Will post pics once complete

Wanted to share updated pics of my Daytona Grey as I have made some changes:
-Switched out Chrome for Black Badges and Rings
-Ghost Lowering Links
Next Up: XPEL Stealth PPF in a couple weeks
(pictures are from my local shop's IG page hence the captions, using as they are much higher qualify than I can take)

How much do the lowering links lower the car?

Also would be interested in the stealth PPF once done as I'm considering having this applied onto a mythos black GT.

No more than an inch I believe, the shop played around with it a bit to even it all out so not sure how much it lowered exactly. its subtle but gives it a more sporty and menacing look. Essentially it lowers all the levels of the air suspension slightly without impacting ride quality (other than watching for bumps in the road).

There is another thread for the eTron SUV lowering on these boards that goes into some really nice detail on how the GhostLinks work, including some tips on installing them yourself:

If you want more control over the settings I saw some people purchased this:

Its more expensive but you can control the settings via app on your phone. I thought about this as you can remove all the air from the suspension for a slammed, show car look when parked but the lowering links were simpler and cheaper

Also just got home. I’ll say the Daytona is beautiful I am so glad I went with Daytona. Still haven’t seen Kemora but I was worried I wouldn’t like it. I wanted black badges but honestly these work just fine. Look good with the wheels.

Congratulations!
Enjoy it. You're in California so you have nothing to worry about. The lemon law protects you if you start having any of the problems you've been concerned about
